How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Remember those compositions we wrote, during the first week of back-to-school?

If I did one right now, it could be summed up in two words: audio production.

A 500-show milestone

This week, Over Coffee® celebrates 500 episodes!

We're publishing two special-edition shows to spotlight some of the innovators who have starred on the show over the years.

Rather than bore you with all the details of editing, production and the ways the project grew, here are three resources you might like, from this week's episode:

Robolink - Fantastic San Diego-based startup which creates educational robots for grades 5 and up--including the first drone kit created for the classroom. https://www.robolink.com/

Invent to Learn - Constructing Modern Knowledge Press President/Editor in Chief Sylvia Libow Martinez is all about empowering learners through hands-on education. Her book, Invent to Learn: Making, Tinkering and Engineering in the Classroom, co-written with Dr. Gary Stager, is now available in its second edition--and is enough to tempt any educator to start planning a school maker fair! https://sylviamartinez.com/

The Dawson Problem Bank - Created by educator, speaker and innovator Rich Lehrer, the Problem Bank is a repository of from which students use design skills, including 3D printing and laser cutting, to solve problems in their communities. Rich includes directions on how to start a Problem Bank in your local school. https://richlehrer.wixsite.com/problembank

And--that's it!

See you next week!

Like many others who enjoyed multiple events in this innovative platform, I'm truly sorry things ended this way. However, one closure doesn't stop creativity. Academy of Immersive Arts and Sciences President Ben Erwin has a wonderful "PSA" post on LinkedIn, in which he offers guidance for backing...

IMMERSIVE X Global XR Festival is an event unlike any other we've ever attended. Completely virtual, and completely free, this three-day conference--though "conference" barely describes it--happens on multiple platforms, and encourages everyone to experience, and get involved with, virtual reality. And it's just about to happen again. (Royalty-free image by Enrique...
